Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program.
• At least 2 years of medical assisting experience.
• Ability to read and write medical terminology.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience with Eclinical or Athena EMR systems preferred.
• Primary Care experience strongly preferred.
• Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and ensure smooth patient flow.
• Escort patients to discharge area.
• Obtain patient histories, assess and triage patients, measure vital signs, and document information.
• Explain treatment procedures and prepare patients and exam rooms.
• Position instruments and equipment, assist physicians during procedures.
• Clean and sterilize instruments after use.
• Assist with injections, vaccinations, and blood draws.
• Calculate medication dosages.
• Complete medical charts with services rendered, test results, and supplies used.
• Perform patient follow-ups, coordinate referrals and testing, schedule appointments.
• Support registration staff and perform clerical duties as needed.
