Job summary

Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman, LLP in McAllen, Texas is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our defense-focused team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys through all phases of civil litigation, including trial preparation and attendance.

This on-site role requires exceptional organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will work on matters across personal injury, premises liability, construction, and business litigation,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of civil litigation experience (defense preferred).
• Paralegal certificate preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal court procedures and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in all phases of civil litigation from inception through trial.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and case correspondence.
• Manage case files and maintain litigation calendars.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
• Review, organize, summarize, and analyze case records.
• Prepare trial exhibits, witness files, exhibit lists, and trial notebooks.
• Coordinate logistics and provide support during trial.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
