Job summary

S&ME Inc. is looking for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Inspectors to support our Transportation group across North Carolina. You will oversee construction activities to ensure safety and quality standards are met.

The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, prior experience in highway construction or inspection, and active NCDOT certifications. This full-time outdoor role offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in highway construction or inspection is necessary.
• Technical degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Active NCDOT certifications are required.
• Strong communication skills in English are essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities for compliance with plans and safety standards.
• Inspect environmental compliance and perform quality testing.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and document contractor performance.
• Conduct calculations and maintain records of material quantities.
• Attend safety meetings and work closely with contractors.

Skills
