Job summary
S&ME Inc. is seeking Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Inspectors to support our Transportation group across North Carolina. In this role, you will oversee contractor activities on essential infrastructure projects such as highways and bridges, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. A high school diploma or GED and relevant experience in highway construction or inspection is required. Benefits include medical plans, wellness programs, and a 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Qualifications
Prior experience in highway construction or inspection.
Active NCDOT certifications such as QMS Roadway, Conventional Density, Concrete Field Technician, Erosion Control Level II, and/or Nuclear Gauge.
Ability to traverse uneven terrain and stand for extended periods.
Responsibilities
Oversee construction activities for compliance with plans and safety standards.
Inspect erosion control measures and environmental compliance.
Prepare detailed daily inspection reports.
