CarParts.com is hiring a Catalog Automation Specialist to architect and deliver automation tools powering our catalog ingestion engine (R.I.N.A.) and image pipeline. You will collaborate with global teams, write production-grade Python, and optimize large-scale data processing for speed and reliability.

The role is full-time, on site at our Long Beach, CA headquarters, with no remote option. Strong communication and data-driven mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of programming experience.
• Strong Python production development experience.
• Solid fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, testing, debugging, clean code.
• Programmatic networking and file transfer experience (FTP/SFTP/SMB/APIs).
• Scale and performance experience with large datasets and multi-file processing.
• Basic Excel proficiency for stakeholder reports.
• Excellent communication and self-starter attitude; occasional meetings with global teams.
• Hybrid in-office and remote, must be able to come into the Long Beach office.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly design, implement, and deliver one-off automation tools and scripts for business teams.
• Build and co-architect automation pipelines for the data/catalog ingestion engine.
• Operate and improve the image pipeline with site-wide checks across millions of images.
• Produce documentation and runbooks; coordinate requirements with stakeholders.
• Optimize parsing/processing for very large datasets with high throughput.
