Job summary

CarParts.com is seeking an experienced software engineer to architect, build, and deploy AI-enabled systems that ship real value to customers. You will own projects end-to-end, design robust data models, and integrate AI features into products and workflows.

You will collaborate with Marketing, Data Science, Merchandising, Warehouse Ops, and Finance to deliver technical solutions, while maintaining high code quality and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python, TypeScript, Java, Go, or C#.
• Solid grasp of OOP, SOLID, design patterns and maintainable architecture.
• Relational DBs (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL DBs (MongoDB/Redis/DynamoDB).
• Experience designing RESTful APIs; OpenAPI/Swagger knowledge.
• Writes meaningful unit/integration/end-to-end tests.
• Cloud/DevOps: AWS, GCP, or Azure; Docker; CI/CD; Terraform basics.
• Strong Git workflow: branching, PRs, code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable software systems and APIs.
• Write clean, well-structured code with comprehensive tests.
• Architect and optimize relational and NoSQL databases.
• Debug performance bottlenecks and production issues with urgency.
• Lead end-to-end AI deployments and integrate AI features.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Data Science, Merchandising, Ops, and Finance.
• Explain architecture decisions to leadership and document outcomes.
