Job summary

Fidelity Partners, on-site at Richmond VA Healthcare System in Richmond, Virginia, seeks a Board Certified Perfusionist to support cardiothoracic procedures.

The role requires 2+ years perfusion experience, ABP certification, BLS/ACLS, and the ability to respond to 24/7 on-call coverage within 30 minutes. This is a full-time contractor position at a VA facility.

Period of performance runs from September 30, 2026 through September 29, 2027, with potential extension; on-site only, no telework.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• Graduation from accredited Perfusion Technology program.
• Current ABP certification.
• Minimum of two years perfusion experience and at least 200 clinical cases.
• Current, full, unrestricted professional license or applicable registration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Maintain CME/CEU and VA training requirements.
• Be within 30 minutes of the facility during on-call.

Responsibilities

• Provide perfusion and autotransfusion services for bypass, valve replacement, and other procedures.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain heart-lung machines and related equipment.
• Support ECMO and balloon-pump patients as assigned.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure patient safety.
• Document perfusion services and related data in medical records accurately.
• Respond to emergency surgical needs and provide 24/7 on-call coverage.
• Participate in QA/QI and staff meetings; comply with VA policies and standards.
