Job summary

Hach, part of Veralto, seeks a Chemical Technician II for the Bulk Chemical Manufacturing Department in Ames, IA. On-site role handling and moving bulk chemicals, testing and adjusting chemistry with wet bench techniques, and ensuring safety and quality in daily operations.

You will follow established formulations, maintain accurate records, and support continuous improvement while contributing to a global water quality mission and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1 year of completed college chemistry with lab required.
• 1 year scientific production, process, or lab technician experience required or
• Bachelor of Science degree in lieu of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture bulk solutions, powders, microbiological media and dyes.
• Use formularies to manufacture bulk reagents per work order.
• Perform production controls and adjust bulk reagents to meet product specifications and ensure quality.
• Release conforming materials to processing, packaging or stock in a timely manner.
• Operate all manufacturing equipment in a safe and productive manner.
• Maintain clean production and lab area to eliminate contamination.
• Maintain production equipment in proper working condition.
• Follow production schedule and communicate blockages to leadership and downstream lines.
• Comply with safety policies including PPE usage, lock-out-tag-out, and proper storage of tools.
• Maintain accurate production and inventory records, follow kanban.
• Accurately perform required computer data entry and work order transactions (LOTS, scrap, Oracle, Kanban).
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
