Job summary

EMCOR Government Services in Washington, DC is seeking a 3rd Class Engineer under the Local 99 contract. The engineer maintains the integrity of building systems, operates the building efficiently, and conducts daily tours to ensure reliable service.

Responsibilities include managing HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, and life-safety systems; planning work orders, overseeing contractors, maintaining logs, and coordinating preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• DC 3rd Engineering License is required.
• 5 years of recent Operations and Maintenance experience within the last 7 years.
• Must be able to acquire a GSA Public Trust Clearance (HSPD-12).

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain building systems including HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Plan and generate work to be performed; obtain tools, equipment and materials.
• Assist maintenance Technicians with troubleshooting of building systems.
• Monitor contractors, inspect work and generate deficiency lists.
• Maintain logs and daily activity records during tours.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and loss control activities.
• Communicate status of operations to leadership and tenants.
