Omega Plastics Inc. seeks an Automation Engineer to enhance manufacturing performance by optimizing automated systems and reducing downtime. You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to improve OEE and quality.

The role emphasizes programming support for PLCs, HMIs, and robots, with on-site work at Clinton Township, MI. A strong maintenance background and electrical/mechanical skills are essential for continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in automation, industrial maintenance, or manufacturing.
• Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
• Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial controls.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.

Responsabilités

• Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation equipment.
• Assist with programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and industrial robots.
• Support new equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements.
• Work with Engineering to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Calibrate sensors, vision systems, and automated equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures and support a safe work environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects that increase efficiency and reduce downtime
