Job summary

Holmes Motors is seeking an experienced Auto Asset Recovery Manager to lead our multi-location recovery operations, guiding teams from assignment to final disposition. This is a hands-on leadership role based on-site for someone who understands the full recovery process.

You will coordinate external vendors, ensure vehicle security and documentation, and drive cross-department workflow. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automotive finance or repossession and proven leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in automotive finance, collections, repossession, asset recovery, or related operations.
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong working knowledge of repossession procedures, documentation, compliance, and recovery operations.
• Proven leadership and team-development skills.
• Strong organizational and operational management abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to remain professional and composed during difficult situations.
• Strong judgment and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct voluntary surrender and involuntary repossession operations; lead, schedule, coach, and quality-check repossession staff.
• Coordinate and monitor external recovery vendors.
• Manage recovery assignments from initiation to completion.
• Ensure recovered vehicles are secured, photographed, inventoried, and documented.
• Oversee movement of recovered vehicles through Collections, Service, Body Shop, and Sales.
• Monitor recovery timelines, costs, aging inventory, vendor performance, and productivity.
• Ensure repossession activities and documentation comply with policies and laws.
• Manage customer escalations involving repossessions, redemptions, and related concerns.
• Partner with leadership to identify risks, improve processes, reduce losses, and strengthen recovery performance.
• Maintain oversight of repossession vehicles, including DOT/ELD and GPS requirements.
