Job summary

Shrub Oak International School seeks a Job Coach to support autistic students in a therapeutic day and residential setting. The role involves coordinating internships, tracking IEP goals, and assisting with daily living and behavior management.

Candidate should have a BA in Education or related field (Masters preferred), 2+ years’ experience, and be able to transport students. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and requires strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• BA in Education, Mental Health, Human Services or similar; Masters preferred.
• 2+ years of experience with similar student populations.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to transport students in a company vehicle.
• Knowledge of crisis prevention and intervention strategies and behavior intervention plans.
• Strong English literacy, spelling, vocabulary and math.
• Passionate about mentoring students to empower self-determination and development.

Responsibilities

• Implement and adapt internship programming on- and off-campus with guidance.
• Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and provide classroom/transition support.
• Support students’ progress toward independence and data collection during transitions.
• Assist with routine personal care and behavior management.
• Transport students in a company vehicle as needed.
• Prepare materials, equipment and assistive devices for student use.
• Provide classroom and staff coverage and handle clerical tasks.
• Build positive relationships across departments and respond to crises per SOIS protocols.
