Job summary

Fortune-Johnson General Contractors is seeking an on-site Assistant Project Manager to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience, preferably on wood-frame multifamily projects over $20M, and will serve as the primary on-site representative and single point of contact for clients.

Responsibilities include assisting estimating in the Preconstruction process, reviewing plans, creating logistics and safety plans, procuring subs, ensuring timely material

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in wood-frame multifamily construction on projects over $20M (variation possible by project size).
• Demonstrates leadership, problem solving, and ability to motivate others while maintaining client relationships.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience mentoring and developing direct reports and working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Estimating in the Preconstruction process.
• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
• Create a project-specific logistics and safety plan.
• Create scopes of work detailing Fortune-Johnson requirements and plans.
• Select and procure subcontractors in a timely manner.
• Ensure materials and equipment are delivered on site promptly.
• Monitor schedule, cost, quality, and procedures.
• Manage project budgets.
• Analyze and forecast monthly cost updates.
• Oversee pay requests and billing processes.
• Manage RFI, submittal, change order processes and all project documents.
• Partner with the Project Superintendent to ensure project success.
• Ensure work progresses according to schedule.
