Job summary

FALCATA is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer to support the security program at our Huntsville, Alabama facility. Working under the direction of the Facility Security Officer, this individual will help protect classified information, administer personnel-security processes, and manage facility access controls for defense contracting work.

The role involves coordinating with DCSA, maintaining security records, and ensuring compliance with NISPOM and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of security experience including facility security and access-control systems.
• Knowledge of NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117) in a cleared environment.
• Experience processing or supporting personnel clearances and maintaining records in DISS.
• Hands-on experience administering physical-access permissions, badges, visitors, or electronic access-control systems.
• Ability to interpret security requirements, maintain detailed records, and communicate with employees and government stakeholders.
• Ability to meet the position's stated clearance and on-site work requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the FSO in administering the facility's industrial security program, maintaining procedures and records, and preparing for DCSA reviews.
• Coordinate personnel-security actions, including clearance processing, eligibility and access verification, and required documentation.
• Use authorized government security systems (DISS and others) to maintain security records.
• Administer physical-access processes, including badges, visitor check-ins, and access-control records.
• Help safeguard classified materials by monitoring adherence to storage, handling, and access procedures.
• Assist with security education, employee reporting, incident documentation, and insider-threat program activities.
• Support security self-inspections, track corrective actions, and respond to oversight requests.
• Coordinate with the FSO, program teams, government security representatives, and DCSA on security questions and actions.
