Job summary

Evolving Solution Services in Hauppauge, NY is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead daily accounting operations, supervise AR/AP staff, and ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting.

You will manage month- and year-end closes, strengthen internal controls, and partner with cross-functional teams on process improvements and audits. This full-time role requires 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 in supervision; CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
• Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
• Experience with ERP systems (preferred)
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Commitment to continuous process improvement

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting activities (AP, AR, General Ledger)
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Manage the month- and year-end close processes
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial transactions and reporting
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and support informed decision-making
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
• Support external audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting
• Recommend and implement process improvements
• Partner with cross-functional teams and lead key projects (including AP automation)
