Job summary

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for the Assistant Athletic Trainer in Intercollegiate Athletics. This temporary, non-exempt position supports athletic medicine services, injury care, and daily clinic operations for approx 370 student-athletes.

Under supervision of athletic leadership, duties include prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, medical recordkeeping, and coordinating referrals.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in athletic training or related field.
• Current BOC certification for Athletic Trainer and Colorado licensure.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Experience with electronic health records and medical documentation.
• Ability to make sound clinical judgments and develop recovery plans.
• Adherence to NATA Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

• 55%: manage prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehab for ~370 student-athletes on campus and on the road.
• 25%: maintain updated medical records and related data.
• 10%: ensure clear communication among athletic medicine staff, coaches, and student-athletes.
• 5%: coordinate clinical and physician appointments.
• 5%: perform other duties as assigned.
