Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join our NSWC Dahlgren Division team on-site in Virginia. You will design test plans, develop automated tests, and collaborate with government customers to resolve defects.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in applied math/physics, 1+ years in software testing, and experience with C++, Linux, DOORS, Jira. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for daily customer interaction.

Qualifications

2+ years of professional applied mathematics or applied physics experience in support of engineering projects.
1+ years of software/systems testing experience or equivalent education; can be concurrent with applied math or applied physics.
Familiarity reviewing C++ code and using Linux environments.
Experience linking requirements to test cases and managing test artifacts.
Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements.
Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, and system-level).
Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and other tools.
Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
Review peers’ test documentation and provide constructive feedback.
Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
Interface directly with government customers daily.
