Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the NSWCDD Dahlgren on-site team. You will design test plans, develop automated tests, and work with government customers to resolve defects.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in applied math/physics, some coding, and 1+ year of software testing experience. US citizenship and 5 days/week on-site are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied mathematics or applied physics experience.
• 1+ years of software/systems testing experience or equivalent education; can be concurrent with applied math or applied physics experience
• Familiarity with reviewing C++ code and experience using Linux systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong requirements traceability and ability to present to customers

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, system-level).
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface directly with government customers daily; occasionally present testing documentation.
