Job summary

Bryten is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our Schoolhouse Gardens community in New York. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and make-ready tasks to keep the property safe and appealing for residents.

You’ll diagnose and fix plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other systems, document work, and communicate clearly with residents and vendors. A valid license and driving ability are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• HVAC certification preferred; additional industry certifications are a plus.
• Previous apartment or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
• Proficient in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, drywall, painting.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests and maintenance work orders in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, painting, and other systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on community equipment, buildings, and common areas.
• Prepare vacant apartment homes for new residents (make-ready and turn processes).
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, amenities, and equipment.
• Assist with on-call maintenance and emergencies as required.
• Maintain curb appeal and upkeep of grounds and property amenities.
• Maintain records of work orders, inspections, inventory, and maintenance activities.
• Communicate effectively with residents, vendors, and team members.
