Job summary

Bender Companies is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team at one of its St. Charles properties. This on-site role focuses on managing service requests, preventative maintenance, and vendor relations to sustain high resident satisfaction and asset performance.

You will supervise daily operations, coordinate with the Property Manager, and ensure safety and compliance while delivering timely, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in residential maintenance, including team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead and develop team members.
• Strong communication with residents, vendors, and team members.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general maintenance.
• Familiarity with property management systems (Yardi, AppFolio) is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement daily plans to maximize maintenance team productivity.
• Coordinate unit turns with vendors and contractors to ensure timely readiness.
• Oversee service requests, work orders, and maintenance tasks.
• Perform routine property inspections and address issues proactively.
• Assist preventative maintenance to extend life of systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and inventory.
• Deliver notices to residents and participate in on-call schedule.
