Job summary

University of Central Florida (UCF) IT invites applications for an AI Solutions Engineer II to partner with departments and the AI acceleration team. The role oversees the early solution life cycle from discovery through build, testing, and transition to development or operations teams, on-site in Orlando, Florida.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience or a HS diploma with 6 years of relevant work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
• Experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business, functional, data, and integration requirements for enterprise technology, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience facilitating discovery sessions, business process reviews, workshops, and stakeholder interviews, with the ability to document current‑state and future‑state workflows, process maps, use cases, and business requirements.
• Experience designing, configuring, implementing, or supporting business applications, automation solutions, integrations, dashboards, or AI‑enabled services in collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Elicits, analyzes, prioritizes, and documents requirements and translates them into solution concepts and build plans.
• Collaborates with departments to understand objectives and documents current and future processes.
• Identifies inefficiencies and recommends improvements that align with university priorities and customer needs.
• Builds and implements initial AI and automation solutions in partnership with various teams and vendors.
