Job summary

University of Central Florida is seeking an AI Platform Engineer II to support AI platform operations, including AI Gateway, API Management, and model-serving environments. You will help operate, monitor, and maintain core AI services and local GPU compute resources, aligning with governance and security standards.

The role emphasizes lifecycle management for models, support for CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration with the AI Center of Excellence and campus partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience with enterprise AI, ML, cloud, or platform services including API management and model-serving environments.
• Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD, IaC, and automated deployment practices.
• Experience administering Linux-based server environments and GPU-enabled compute infrastructure.
• Knowledge of identity and access management technologies and enterprise authentication frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and support AI platform services (AI Gateway, API Management, model-serving endpoints).
• Assist with local GPU nodes and compute environments for model hosting, fine-tuning, training, and inference.
• Maintain lifecycle, versioning, deployment support, and governance alignment for local models.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, IaC configurations, container deployments, observability tooling, and repeatable deployment patterns.
• Apply governance, privacy, and security standards to AI deployments, including Entra ID, OAuth/OIDC, and RBAC.
• Maintain diagrams, runbooks, dashboards, usage and cost reports, and capacity metrics.
• Assist senior engineers and campus partners with platform questions and onboarding.
