Happy Egg Company in Warsaw, Indiana, is seeking an Accountant to join our on-site finance team. This intermediate role focuses on month-end close, journal entries, and inventory reconciliations across feed mill and plant operations.

You will partner with operations to understand drivers behind the numbers and support both financial and managerial accounting tasks while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Inventory accounting experience in manufacturing, processing, or agricultural environment
• Strong Excel skills and hands-on ERP experience
• Comfortable on-site at feed mill and plant with operations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Meet firm deadlines and multitask
• Experience in financial and managerial accounting
• Self-starter who is organized
• Growth mindset and ability to drive innovation

Responsibilities

• Monitor G/L accounts, perform month-end close activities, and ensure accuracy of month-end reporting.
• Generate Journal Entries and perform Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of feed mill and plant egg inventory, resolve discrepancies.
• Identify and research variances between actuals and budget/forecast.
• Act as day-to-day liaison between Finance and operations (feed mill and plant).
• Support month-end close and consolidation of multiple entities.
• Assist accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice review and cash application.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reporting for Finance and business partners
