Job summary

ncgCARE is seeking a Crisis Co-Responder Therapist in Murphy, NC. The role partners with law enforcement to de-escalate behavioral health crises, perform on-site assessments, and connect individuals to community services.

The team aims to reduce ER visits and repeated police calls through immediate intervention and short-term follow-up care. This 2pm-10pm full-time position requires a Master's degree in a behavioral health field and an Associate license in NC, with at least two years of relevant

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a behavioral health field.
• Licensed in North Carolina (e.g., Associate license: LCSW-A, LCMHC-A, LMFTA) is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of behavioral health experience.
• Crisis response or law enforcement collaboration experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to behavioral health crisis calls with law enforcement and provide on-site clinical support.
• Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments including suicide risk, substance use, and SDOH.
• Coordinate care and link individuals to behavioral health treatment, housing, and services.
• Provide short-term follow-up and care coordination to reduce repeat crises and ER visits.

Education

Master's degree in a behavioral health field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy)
