Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks an Satellite On‑Orbit Operations Software Engineer to develop and deploy software for satellites and ground systems, enabling fault detection, real‑time anomaly triage, and automated workflows. You will collaborate across software, electrical, hardware, and GNC teams to support Starlink’s growing constellation.

Candidates should have strong software skills with hardware experience, and flexibility to work extended hours or weekends for mission critical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields.
• 1+ years of professional software development experience (Python/C++ preferred).
• Experience building software that interacts with hardware (robotics, embedded systems, control systems).

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy software for satellites and ground systems to automate fault detection and workflows.
• Build ground software to manage vehicle state, commands, and anomaly triage.
• Develop processes for new hardware versions and capabilities.
• Detect and triage anomalies on satellite bus and payload.
• Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, GNC, and network engineers.
• Drive simple solutions to complex problems.
