Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Satellite On-Orbit Operations Software Engineer (Starlink) to develop software for satellites and ground systems, automate fault detection, and support real-time anomaly triage. You will work with engineers from software, electrical, mechanical, and GNC to enable high reliability across 10k+ satellites.

The role emphasizes rapid software development, hardware interaction, and cross-functional collaboration, with on-call duties and extended hours as needed for mission-critical

Qualifications

1+ years of professional software development experience; Python and/or C++ preferred.
Experience building software that interacts with hardware (robotics, embedded systems, control systems).
Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams and ability to work with hardware teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and rapidly deploy software for satellites and ground systems to automate fault detection and operational workflows.
Build and improve ground software systems that manage vehicle state and real-time anomaly triage.
Develop operational processes and automation for new hardware versions and satellite capabilities.
Detect and triage anomalies on satellite hardware and command orbital assets on-call.
