Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Electrical On-Orbit Hardware Reliability Engineer for Starlink to track and analyze failure modes across the world’s largest satellite fleet. You will investigate anomalies, design bench tests, and model failures to improve reliability across the constellation.

You will work with cross-disciplinary teams to root cause issues, develop testing plans, and implement automated data analyses, ensuring robustness from design through operations, while supporting mission-critical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or related STEM field.
• 1+ years of professional experience in hardware development, hardware troubleshooting, or data analysis (internship/co-op acceptable).
• 1+ years of experience with Python and/or SQL.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and track on-orbit hardware failures for the Starlink constellation.
• Drive root cause investigation for major on-orbit hardware anomalies.
• Perform electrical bench testing and develop models to root cause failures.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, test, operations, and production teams.
• Develop tools to analyze data collected on-orbit and in ground testing for continuous improvements.
• Improve feedback loop from space using effective communication and automation.
