Job summary

BarnTools is seeking a Field Service Technician for Storm Lake, IA. You will install and activate BarnTalk hardware at customer sites, troubleshoot issues on-site or remotely, and promote additional BarnTalk products and services.

Travel across Iowa is expected, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service in agricultural settings. You should be comfortable working independently in the field, lifting up to 60 lbs, and maintaining detailed service records.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience installing or servicing mechanical/electrical systems, preferably in agriculture or construction.
• Willingness to travel weekly and on-call weekends.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL not required.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install & Activate: Set up BarnTalk hardware at customer sites and ensure activation via app and cloud dashboard.
• Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and resolve issues remotely and on-site.
• Promote & Sell: Lead customers through a short sales cycle and upsell BarnTalk products and services.
• Educate Customers: Explain system operation and best practices for monitoring and management.
• Service & Support: Conduct maintenance visits, audits, and warranty/part installs.
• Document Work: Keep accurate records of installations, repairs, parts usage, customer interactions, and hours.
