Job summary

Hark seeks an Audio DSP Deployment Engineer in San Jose to own the on-device audio pipeline, translating desktop prototypes to real-time C/C++ on embedded DSP cores with latency, memory, and power constraints. You will drive architecture decisions and work closely with hardware teams to ship a high-quality audio product.

Qualifications

• Experience in real-time embedded audio processing required.
• Ability to redesign processing to meet real-time constraints.
• Experience porting audio algorithms from MATLAB/Python to embedded DSP.
• Strong profiling and optimization skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the on-device design of the audio algorithm chain within budget constraints.
• Port desktop prototypes to production C/C++ running in real time on embedded DSP cores.
• Develop and extend algorithms directly on device and propose improvements.
• Optimize for target DSP architecture including SIMD and fixed-point.
• Profile performance, memory footprint and end-to-end latency.
• Validate against reference and real-world audio quality with test fixtures.
• Debug on-device audio issues using tuning and real-time tracing tools.
• Collaborate with algorithm, acoustics, and hardware teams to shape on-device chain.
