Job summary

University of Michigan-Flint School of Management is seeking a Tutor II (TEMP) for on-demand tutoring across courses at the Flint Campus. Tutors work individually or in lab settings, with schedules varying weekly and occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Tutors will complete a general tutor training program and four hours of continuing training during the academic year. Preference is given to applicants who can tutor multiple courses and have faculty recommendations.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be a current UM-Flint student or have attended UM-Flint within the past six months.
• Must have a faculty recommendation for each course you tutor.
• Demonstrated excellence in academic subject area/areas in which you wish to tutor.
• Excellent oral and written skills.
• 3.0 GPA or strong faculty recommendation if GPA is lower.

Responsibilities

• Provide on demand tutoring to students.
• Assist students in learning strategies and software programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Python, SPSS, Excel, and Access.
• Tutor in individual and/or lab settings.
• Follow procedures for documenting student usage and hours worked.
