Job summary

Magellan Federal is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to provide comprehensive financial counseling to military service members and their families at installations. The role covers short-term, surge, and on-demand needs, including one-on-one counseling, briefings, and referrals.

You will develop spending plans, publish educational materials, and lead PFM classes across the military lifecycle while coordinating with POCs and leadership to ensure program scope and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen and fluent English.
• If required by contract, bilingual English/Spanish.
• Able to obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation.
• Able to pass the OCI disclosures process.
• Certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
• Coordinate and provide Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes as needed.
• Manage duty to warn situations per DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision.
• Participate in regular training and contract activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
