Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor to provide direct financial counseling and management services to military service members and their families at installations. The role includes budgeting for extended absences, developing educational materials, and coordinating PFM classes across the military lifecycle.

The candidate will use a mix of in-person and virtual counseling, collaborate with leaders, and participate in supervision and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; alternative combinations considered.
• Minimum 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English required; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required by contract.
• Certification: AFC, CFP, or ChFC required could be requested by contract.
• Must be able to obtain Tier 2 background investigation and disclosures for OCI.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Assist in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
• Coordinate and deliver PFM classes/workshops for various military lifecycle topics.
• Utilize virtual counseling and secure communication as needed.
