Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a Personal Financial Counselor to provide coverage in short-term, surge and on-demand situations at military installations in Delaware. Responsibilities include one-on-one counseling, education, and referrals to resources, working with commanders and staff to keep services within scope.

The role supports service members and families through budgeting, classes, and remote or virtual counseling as needed, with DoD protocols and required certifications (AFC/CFP/ChFC).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; associate degree +4 years is acceptable.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish if required by contract.
• Ability to obtain a Tier 2 investigation and pass OCI process.
• Certification: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal financial counseling and management services to service members and families.
• Assists in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develops and distributes informational financial materials.
• Coordinates and provides PFM classes/workshops across military lifecycle.
• Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilizes virtual counseling and secure online communications as allowed.
• Manages DoD protocol and communicates with leadership.
• Participates in training and contract activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
