Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's University Unions team seeks a Technical Trades Crew Leader in the Maintenance Shop on UT Main Campus. You will provide shop and job-site leadership, technical expertise, and journey-level skills to support repair projects and events, and lead the shop in the supervisor's absence.

Responsibilities include directing staff on renovation and repair projects, maintaining safety programs, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring quality work.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED.
• Three years of journey-level carpentry experience.
• Ability to follow drawings, specifications, and standards with minimal supervision.
• Experience leading a work crew.
• Proven track record of following safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct staff for facility renovation, repair, and construction projects.
• Lead shop in absence of supervisor; manage daily shop operations.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, and building supervisors; ensure timely completion.
• Promote and maintain shop safety; handle hazardous materials.
• Read and work from drawings and specifications; inspect work quality.
