Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Technical Trades Crew Leader for the University Unions maintenance shop. You will provide shop and job-site leadership, technical expertise, and journey-level carpentry skills to support renovations, repairs, and events on campus.

You will lead the crew in the absence of the supervisor, coordinate with project managers, and promote a robust safety program. background check is required.

Qualifications

• Three years of journey-level carpentry experience, able to read drawings and specs.
• Proven ability to lead a work crew and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Experience with project documentation, time sheets, and labor reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff in facility renovation, repair, and construction projects.
• Provide jobsite direction, coordinate with clients and project managers.
• Maintain shop safety programs and enforce policies and procedures.
• Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to campus standards.
• Assist with shop operations, inventory, and documentation.
