Georgia State University in Atlanta seeks a Utility Worker I to promote sustainability across campus. You will assist in events, move and set up furniture, operate a forklift, and support the Recycling Center while driving university vehicles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Georgia driver's license required.
• CDL license or driving experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Experience with recycling, building services, janitorial, trash collection, grounds experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in set up and participates in campus sustainability events such as Earth Week, Recyclemania, Move-in, and Move-Out.
• Drives university vehicles and walks buildings to collect recycling from loading docks and buildings; operates a compactor truck and collects cardboard.
• Operates vertical baler and forklift to bale and store paper and plastic; operates paper shredder.
• Removes recyclables from truck and sorts them at Recycling Center into correct location; keeps area clean and safe.
• Drives university vehicle to haul materials to designated off-campus locations.
• Completes work orders in a timely fashion; provides excellent customer service and maintains collaborative relationships.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
