Job summary

George Washington University’s Division for Student Affairs seeks a Licensed Case Manager for the Student Health Center in Foggy Bottom, DC. You will advocate for students, coordinate care with mental health and primary providers, and educate students and families about integrated healthcare services.

The role requires a mental health licensure with DC eligibility within six months, an advanced degree, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a mental health discipline with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Must hold an active, unrestricted mental health license in DC within six months of hire.
• Strong clinical, interpersonal, and organizational skills; ability to collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Triaging psychiatry evaluation requests from students, staff and community members.
• Taking brief student histories and assessing suicide risk to determine urgency.
• Requesting and collecting treatment records prior to appointments or during care.
• Coordinating with mental health and primary care providers for continuity of care.
• Educating students, families, and the community about integrated health services.
• Managing referrals and coordinating with providers during hospitalizations or outpatient care.
• Assisting CAPS staff with placement of clients to higher levels of care when indicated.
• Maintaining a community provider referral list for CAPS.
• Providing support for CAPS crisis visits and administrative processes.
