Job summary

Georgetown University is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across campus facilities in Washington, DC. The role includes performing preventative maintenance, responding to service calls, and ensuring safe, comfortable building conditions for students and staff.

The position requires 4–5 years of HVAC experience, EPA certification, and a strong understanding of pneumatic controls and DDC/EMS systems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Requires 4-5 years’ experience in Commercial, Light commercial and residential HVAC/refrigeration.
  • Preference for a Journeyman or Master HVAC license.
  • Requires Universal EPA – CFC certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform journeyman level maintenance and repairs in accordance with industry/trade practices.
  • Provide daily maintenance support to building users to respond to calls for service, making scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and similar service.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled or special work such as overhauls, replacements, surveys and similar projects.
  • Use all standard tools, equipment, materials, and supplies of the trade and observe all safety rules, regulations and precautions in performing their duties.
