Job summary

The New School's Digital Content team seeks a Student Assistant Content Creator to help film and edit video and photo content and assist in organizing and distributing media assets on campus. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, gaining hands-on digital asset management skills.

Graduating Spring 2027 or later, you should be comfortable on set, with basic camera operation, and proficient in Macintosh and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Qualifications

Must be graduating in Spring 2027 or beyond.
Ability to commit 15-20 hours per week during the school year.
On-set and equipment handling experience required.
Proficiency with Macintosh computers.
Experience with cell phone video for social media.
Strong organizational and metadata skills.

Responsibilities

Assist on all photo and video shoots for M&C.
Collaborate with all M&C departments and act as a creative partner.
Assist the in-house team and outside vendors in producing video and photo content.
Assist with the digital processing of photography and video release forms.
Assist with the intake and cataloging of assets to the Digital Asset Library.
Curate and manage collections of images for use by designers, editorial staff, and others.
Maintain and assign metadata for assets, incorporating industry standards to ensure accurate usage rights that meet The New School's unique requirements.
Other tasks as assigned.
