Job summary

The New School seeks a Social Media & Digital Content Student Assistant Specialist to join the Brand, Marketing, and Communication team. You will help integrate Parsons, Mannes, Jazz, Drama into college-wide communications and capture, write, edit, and produce photo and video content.

Responsibilities include drafting newsletters, attending events to capture content, creating posts for multiple platforms, and designing assets while following branding guidelines. Hybrid work is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in social media storytelling and community building.
• Photography and/or videography experience.
• Graphic design experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Knowledge of latest digital trends and copywriting/editing skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft weekly newsletters with event highlights and ideas.
• Attend university events to capture photo/video content for social media.
• Create social media content across platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn).
• Shoot and edit photo/video for web and program marketing.
• Manage photo/video release forms and approvals.
• Interview students, alumni, and faculty for video content.
• Design graphic assets for social media, websites, and newsletters.
• Write concise copy following branding guidelines.
