Job summary

The New School is seeking a curious and creative student to support social media and digital content across Parsons, Mannes, Jazz, and Drama portfolios. You will capture and produce photo and video content, write copy, and design assets for college-wide communications.

Hybrid work with on-campus and remote time, hourly rate eligible, and an emphasis on collaboration with Brand, Marketing, and Communication teams.

Qualifications

• Strong interest and fluency in social media, storytelling, and community building.
• Photography and/or videography experience.
• Graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Knowledge of latest digital trends.
• Copywriting and editing skills.
• Availability during office hours with occasional evening events.
• Strong communicator and team player; receptive to feedback.
• Enthusiastic, proactive, able to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Appreciation for arts, design, student life, and higher education.

Responsibilities

• Draft weekly newsletters with events and items for the college community.
• Attend university events to capture photo/video content for social media and platforms.
• Create social media content across Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn.
• Shoot and edit photo/video content for social media, web, and marketing.
• Track and manage photo/video release forms.
• Interview students, alumni, and faculty for video content.
• Design graphic assets for social media, flyers, websites, and newsletters.
• Write concise copy following branding guidelines.
• Monitor social accounts and engage with audiences.
• Research news items and events to promote the Parsons, Mannes, Jazz & Drama community.
• Abide by university guidelines on AI tool usage.
