Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cook I at the University of Cincinnati main campus to prepare and present a variety of hot and cold items for all meals and events. In a fast-paced campus kitchen, you will follow recipes, maintain food safety standards, and work as part of a team to deliver quality dining experiences.

Shifts vary with days and hours; this is a full-time position with opportunities for training, benefits, and career growth in a supportive work environment. University location: Cincinnati, OH.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold items for all meals and events.
• Follow recipes and product directions for dishes and components.
• Estimate production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
• Significant walking or other mobility required.
• Walk/stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.
