Job summary

California State University, Fullerton’s Disability Support Services seeks an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter for hourly, temporary work. The role supports Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students with academic access, including classroom instruction, meetings, and campus events.

The interpreter will provide real-time captioning and transliteration, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to RID ethics. This non-benefited, schedule-flexible position may end on June 30, 2027 with possible renewal.

Qualifications

• Ability to hear spoken English and interpret ASL.
• Experience providing ASL interpreting services in higher education is preferred.
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and RID Code of Professional Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional ASL interpreting services in academic settings, including classrooms, meetings, and events.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold interpreting standards; collaborate with DSS staff for access.
