Job summary

Brightpoint seeks an On-call Youth Crisis Worker to provide after-hours crisis intervention for runaway and homeless youth and their families. This role requires quick rapport, nonjudgmental listening, and collaboration with youth to negotiate safe, workable solutions.

Shifts are on-call and may include weekends, evenings, overnights, or holidays; compensation is hourly, and transportation may be required with mileage reimbursed.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework in Social Work or related field OR two years of experience working with youth and families.
• Availability to respond in-person to after-hours crisis calls (60–90 minutes depending on location).
• Valid drivers license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.
• Excellent skills at communicating effectively and empathically, even in a high-conflict situation.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours crisis intervention to runaway and homeless youth and their families.
• Meet with youth and parents to understand perspectives and negotiate safe solutions.
• Complete initial safety assessments to inform crisis intervention.
