Job summary

CYN Counseling Center in Grayslake, IL seeks a Bachelor's level Crisis Worker for overnight crisis response to runaway, locked out, or homeless youth. The role requires crisis intervention skills, client engagement, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Compensation is competitive for overnight shifts.

Coverage rotates on 5 pm–9 am shifts Monday–Thursday, Friday 5 pm–Monday 9 am, including holidays. This is a vital part of our continuum of care and youth support services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level crisis worker with human services background.
• Overnight shift experience preferred.
• Ability to engage clients in crisis situations.
• Reliable and able to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Handle crisis situations for runaway, locked out, or homeless youth.
• Maintain coverage on rotating overnight hours (5 pm–9 am; weekends/holidays).

CYN Counseling Center is a non-profit, community-based counseling agency that offers therapy, case management, crisis intervention, and community education to people of all ages. CYN is growing in capacity; both in programs and number of staff.

We are currently seeking a Bachelor's level Crisis Worker, overnight who will be available to handle crisis situations for runaway, locked out, or homeless youth. The ideal candidate will have a human services background, have good client engagement skills, be effective at crisis intervention, work well independently as well as with a team, and be reliable.

Coverage is on a rotating basis with possible hours being:

5 pm - 9 am, Monday through Thursday;

5 pm Friday - 9 am Monday morning; and all holidays.

Our crisis workers are well compensated and an important part of our team as often times this is the best time to engage clients in therapeutic work.
