Job summary

City of Odessa is seeking a manager to oversee the Water Treatment Plant and related facilities, ensuring safe potable water and regulatory compliance under the Director of Utilities. The role includes supervising plant personnel, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring adequate staffing, training, and safety.

The position requires monitoring SCADA data, budgeting, and producing reports while coordinating with City departments and contractors to support reliable plant operations and compliance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
• Five years' experience in the operation of a surface water treatment plant with at least one year in supervision.
• Working knowledge of SCADA and plant automation.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision of plant personnel and oversee operations and maintenance tasks for efficient plant operation.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with supervisors to ensure timely completion within budget.
• Prepare annual budget and manage plant reports and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor regulatory requirements and maintain training, safety, and supply levels.
• Liaise with City departments, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed.
