Job summary

County of Kauaʻi is seeking a substitute/on-call Van Driver to operate and maintain a passenger van on designated routes and schedules.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of general work experience, a valid Hawaii Type 3 driver’s license, and a Department of Transportation Medical Examiner Certificate. On-call shifts and non civil service status apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year general work experience.
• Valid Hawaii Type 3 driver’s license or equivalent.
• Valid State of Hawai‘i DOT Medical Examiner Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Transports passengers on designated routes.
• Assists disabled passengers into and out of the vehicle.
• Secures wheelchairs and uses restraining devices as needed.
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness and completes trip records.
