Job summary

City and County of Denver’s Parks and Recreation Forestry team is seeking multiple Urban Forestry Workers to assist with tree planting, care, pruning and removals to maintain Denver’s urban canopy. These on-site, on-call positions typically run Monday through Friday, with some weekends, and report to 945 S Huron St.

These roles involve using hand-powered tools and motorized equipment, performing outdoor physical work, learning climbing and rigging techniques, and applying plant health care

Responsibilities

• Assist urban forestry operations such as planting, care, pruning and removals.
• Operate and repair hand-powered tools and motorized equipment safely.
• Work outdoors performing physical exertion and follow arboriculture best practices.
• Identify tree species and assist in planting and establishment.
• Support climbing, pruning and removal tasks; maintain a safe work zone.
• Learn climbing and rigging techniques.
• Apply plant health care techniques such as trunk/soil injections.
• Support snow removal operations when needed.
