Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking Urban Forestry Workers to assist in planting, caring for, pruning, and removing trees at various outdoor locations across the city. These on-call positions report to the Parks and Recreation Forestry team and will operate Monday–Friday with potential weekends, typically from early morning.

This is a part-time, hourly role offering learning opportunities in arboriculture and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Valid Driver's License at time of application.
• Ability to perform physical outdoor work.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tree planting and establishment.
• Perform tree care, pruning and removals.
• Learn arboriculture practices and safety protocols.
• Operate hand-powered tools and motorized equipment safely and efficiently.
• Set up and maintain a safe work zone and communicate with Arborist Technicians.
• Support snow removal operations as needed.
