Job summary

San Francisco Public Works is seeking an on-call Truck Driver (7355) to support construction and maintenance operations. Qualifications

• Two years of verified experience as a truck driver using heavy construction equipment or other trucks over 26,000 pounds.
• Valid Class B or Class A driver's license with a current Medical Certificate; no air brake restrictions.
• Printout of DMV record current within one month of request; must include final page with End.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate trucks, including pulling trailers, compressors, and pumps.
• Operate sweepers, dump trucks, and multi-unit mowers as part of maintenance operations.
• Load/unload heavy equipment and materials; secure loads safely.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and light maintenance; monitor fluids and tires.
• Complete required DOT and CHP inspections and related forms.
• Prepare daily reports of driving activity and incidents.
• Assist with office tasks such as purchasing materials and supplies.
